Mortgage lending April fall

www.debtfreedirect.co.uk – Mortgage lending fell in April. Official figures from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) show a 12 percent drop in lending to home buyers and other borrowers. The market is particularly difficult for first time buyers without large deposits. If debt problems are hampering your efforts to save for a deposit on your first house, an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) could help – http A person with unsecured debts of over £15000 can meet an agreement with creditors to pay back a more manageable monthly amount over a 5 year period before going debt free. A spokesperson for CML says the election may have had an impact as people waited to see the ‘colours’ of the new government before taking out a mortgage.
