Fewer people losing homes over debts

Fewer people are losing their homes because of debt problems. Figures from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) show repossessions in the UK have fell 7.5 percent in the first 3 months of the year. That’s a drop from 10600 to 9800. If you are at risk of losing your home because of serious debt problems an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) may be the solution. If you have over £15000 of unsecured debts you can reach an agreement with your creditors to pay back a more manageable monthly amount over a 5 year period. The agreement can also protect the equity in your home. The number of homes repossessed is at its lowest in two years.
