The UK Credit Card market is bouncing back with a huge increase in companies offering zero percent interest deals. According to financial information website Moneyfacts there has been a 450 percent jump in the number of firms offering interest free purchases compared to the same time twelve months ago. However the report warned that despite increased competition the average interest rate charged on credit cards has continued to rise and now stands at 18.7 percent. It also cautioned that the majority of card providers still made significant amounts by using customer’s monthly repayments to pay off the least expensive debt first.
